Bill is the son to our founder Bruce Welbon. In his teens he would spend time working in the warehouse here at Veterans Carpet One. He went to college at Western State Colorado University where he received a degree in Business and Economics. Bill then came to work at Veterans Carpet One and took over the business from his father in 1976. Bill is known throughout the industry for his ethics and integrity in business. In his free time he enjoys traveling, being up in the mountains and going to car shows.

Adam is the grandson to our founder, Bruce Welbon, and the son of our President, Bill Welbon. Adam grew up proud of the family business and after graduating from college, he took on a management role at a local sporting goods retailer. After a few years there, he decided it was time to join the family business. Adams' background was deeply rooted in customer service and obviously growing up in the family he did, so was flooring. Since he came on in 2010, Adam has been involved in every aspect of the business. He is now the Operations Manager but still does some project managing for our insurance customers. Adam is thrilled to be apart of his family's business and is planning on taking over ownership when his father retires.

Kris started working for Veterans Carpet One in November of 2009 after his time in the service. He started working in flooring when he was a teenager, picking up scraps for his dad during summer break and during the school year Kris would work in a flooring store. When he turned 18, he started installing floors full time until his decision to join the ARMY. While at Veterans Carpet One, he earned his BS in Construction Management and got RRP certified for lead, along with other certifications that are flooring related. Kris constantly researches the newest trends in flooring as well as the newest installation methods and tools on the market. On his off time, he is usually in the mountains, camping, fishing, and four wheeling. Kris also volunteers with Patriot Anglers, a non-profit that takes Veterans on fishing trips.

Christa came from a public accounting firm here in Denver and has been the controller for Veterans Carpet One for over 31 years. Prior to moving to Colorado, she was born and raised in Germany and still speaks fluent German. Christa mostly oversees the accounting and computer responsibilities for us. In fact, Christa started with us when computerizing business had just started. She helped move us into using computers instead of doing everything by hand.  Christa says that she has worked at Veterans Carpet One for so long because she really enjoys the family atmosphere and ethics of our business and her fellow employees. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and traveling.

Frank has grown up alongside Veterans Carpet One. His father was a long time employee and friend to our founder, Bruce Welbon. Frank started at a young age doing upholstery and worked alongside his father in the flooring business. Whether it is flooring, upholstery, or window coverings, Frank's knowledge and fun personality are sure to make your experience at Veterans Carpet One, a great one.

Chris has been with Veterans Carpet One since 2007, a move that brought Chris full circle back to the flooring business. Born in New York City, the flooring business brought Chris’ family to Denver in the early 1970s.  His father was a carpet rep who sold carpet to the local retailers including Veterans Carpet One. Chris was a Columbine High School and CU Boulder Alumnus. He worked in flooring stores throughout high school and college in varying capacities. After a two year stint in the Peace Corps in the North African Country of Tunisia, Chris returned to the Denver area and has spent the last 25 years working in the sales, marketing, and project management fields. Chris has spent the last 15 years working specifically in the home improvement / flooring business fields doing everything from working as a flooring technician, remodel business owner, and now proudly serving the greater Denver area as a flooring specialist / project manager for Veterans Carpet One. His son Simon spends time with him at the store and we are all hoping to have another generation working here at Veterans Carpet One someday.

Walt has been in this business for most of his life. In 1981, after 5 years, he came out of the field as a carpenter and a construction field supervisor. He then started estimating and selling restoration projects, commercial tenant finish projects, out of the ground residential additions, and renovations/commercial projects.  Starting in 1990, he began his career in the retail flooring industry.  Walt started as a salesman and then became a sales manager/regional manager. Between 2003 and 2009, he started his own flooring measuring service and did general contracting work. His passion though was in direct selling of flooring products to the general public.  In 2012, he came to work for Veterans Carpet One Floor & Home. His experience in flooring and construction makes him a great asset to our company.

Faxon, Company Dog
 

Faxon is as much apart of the Veterans Carpet One family as any other employee. He comes to work with Christa everyday and has been ever since he was a puppy. He is 77 years old in "doggie years" and spends most of his work day sleeping or eating treats. Feel free to come into the office and say hi to him whenever you are here.
